The Department of Health Sciences consists of three subject environments: nursing, public health science, and oral health, and belongs to the Faculty of Health, Natural Sciences, and Technology. The department works together to build a strong health sector. Here, you will have the opportunity to work in an educational and research environment that stimulates collaboration between different subject areas. Within the field of nursing, we offer nurse education, specialist nurse programs (emergency care, intensive care, operating room nursing, and district nursing), standalone courses, commissioned training, and doctoral education. Nursing is the main subject in degrees at the basic level (bachelor's degree) and advanced level (master's degree), as well as a subject in doctoral degrees (licentiate and PhD).

Job Responsibilities

We offer a varied role with teaching primarily on campus, though distance teaching may also occur. You will have the opportunity to work with planning and teaching, mainly within our programs, but also in standalone courses and commissioned training. Supervision of thesis work within the nursing program is also included. Collaboration with healthcare providers in the surrounding community is an important part of the work. Key partners include Region Värmland, Värmland municipalities, as well as other regions and municipalities across the country. If you have a specialist nurse education in one of the areas we teach, teaching within the relevant specialist nurse program may be relevant.

As a university lecturer, you will be part of the pedagogical development work. The work takes place in a changing and creative environment where you actively participate in the development of education and teaching and contribute to how research and education are integrated. To contribute to a good working environment and the development of the subject, you will participate in the daily work community at the department when tasks are not assigned elsewhere. You will follow developments within the subject and other societal developments that are relevant to the teacher's work. In line with the department's work to strengthen internationalization, assignments in this area will become relevant.

Qualification Requirements

The position requires a master's degree in nursing/health sciences/health pedagogy or an equivalent degree. Since teaching and student contact mostly take place in Swedish, knowledge of Swedish and English is required.

Additionally, completed university pedagogical training is required. If this training is missing, employment may still occur, provided the employee commits to completing it during the first two years of employment. Assessment Criteria

Great importance will be attached to:

• Clinical experience as a nurse.
• Experience of international work as a nurse or as a teacher in nurse education.
• Experience of teaching and/or supervision at the university level within nurse education or specialist nurse education.
• Personal qualities such as good ability to work independently and plan one's own work, responsiveness, teamwork, initiative, and commitment to the activities.

Merits include:

• Specialist nurse degree as an emergency nurse, district nurse, intensive care nurse, or operating room nurse.
• Experience of research and scientific production.

Terms

Permanent full-time position starting 2026-06-01 or by agreement. Probationary period may apply.
